A core service of the NERIC Network Services Team and NERIC Service Desk, the Managed Network Infrastructure Monitoring and Support service provides ongoing documentation and support by utilizing remote monitoring tools and real-time Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) monitoring of critical network infrastructure devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls and wireless LAN controllers.
The NERIC Network Services technicians and the NERIC Service Desk will monitor these key network devices and connections in real-time and will leverage both visual and email alerting/notifications. Ongoing/annual support includes iOS documentation and iOS configuration changes, iOS upgrades (if necessary or required) and future networking design planning. iOS maintenance and configuration changes will also be scheduled with on-site staff in order to minimize impact and downtime during school hours.
